Here's a new logo for one of our tape projects. This is my first experiment with the gradient mesh in Illustrator.

Plant and Drag

I started taking guitar lessons. At my first lesson, I learned how to "plant and drag." Maybe next week I'll learn how to "rock out."

Bath Time

We got Connelly new bath toys, and now she spends bath time freaking out chasing after the litte foam letters. It's lots of fun!

Gator Eats Buckeye

I'm not much of a Gators fan, nor do I care much for football, but a disdain for a specific Buckeye zealot encourages me to root against Ohio whenever the occasion arises--and perhaps draw silly pictures.

Return of the Journal

In 2003, I discovered a robust community of online cartoonists who chose to share the details of their lives with comic journal entries. Inspired, I began doing the same, and for about 18 months every day or so (more frequent at first, less frequently at the end) I posted a little glimpse into my life. By joining the Journal Comic Jam, I plugged into an eclectic group of like-minded characters, and enjoyed a casual email relationship with some very talented folks.

But as it has for so many other journal cartoonists, life intervined--we bought a house, started a business, had a baby--and the posts stopped. After two years, my friend Katie Ward asked if I was still at it, and that got me thinking about it agian. Scrolling back through my old archives, I got nostalgic; the cartoons triggered tiny memories I would otherwise have forgotten, and I began to regret not documenting the last two years of my life.

So here we are back again. We'll se how it goes.
